Restored Cell Block C w/ Original Steel Doors and Period Detail

Lead paint · No plumbing in unit · Asbestos ceiling tiles
Block C is truly special — the original steel doors still swing and latch perfectly, which Marlene says is so rare in renovated properties. The ocean breeze through the cell window is like a natural white noise machine that guests absolutely rave about. She's kept every detail authentic, including the floor drain, which honestly just makes cleanup a breeze. You won't find original craftsmanship like this anywhere on the platform.

Marlene has been welcoming guests to Block C since the county sold the property in 2018. She loves how the original steel doors keep things cozy and quiet — guests say they've never slept so deeply. The ocean breeze through the cell window is something she calls a 'natural white noise machine.'

The ocean breeze through the bars was divine. Slept better than I have in years. Total escape.

Authentic atmosphere. The steel door latch is satisfying. Marlene left a very thoughtful welcome note.

Genuinely cozy once you adjust to the concrete. Pull-chain light is a vibe. Would come back.

Never slept so deeply. The floor drain is a surprisingly useful feature. Clean and charming.

The solitary confinement energy was exactly what I needed for a digital detox. No complaints whatsoever.

Stayed a week. The bolted-down cot is firm, which I prefer. Marlene is world-class.

Door latched from the inside and I couldn't get out for about six hours. Good news: Marlene was very responsive and talked me through it.

So glad you got it sorted! The latch can be sticky in humidity — I've added a laminated card with instructions. Thanks for the patience!

The period detail is immaculate. I kept expecting a guard to do rounds. The light shaft in the morning was breathtaking.

Brilliant concept. Only note is the cell window faces northwest so morning light is minimal. But you're here for the vibes and the vibes deliver.
