Creative Omaha Loft w/ Exposed Brick, Reclaimed Wood, and Working-Midwest Energy

Rendering plant below · Airborne particulate · Odor seasonal · VOCs possible
Chuck converted this loft himself — exposed brick, reclaimed wood, the works — and he is genuinely proud of every single detail he made happen in this space. The plant below processes agricultural byproducts, which Chuck says gives the whole building a real working-Midwest energy that you don't get from a sanitized boutique hotel. He recommends keeping the windows cracked just a touch for air circulation, just a touch, not more than that. The gallery wall of Omaha skyline prints is something he curated personally and he'd love to tell you about it.

The exposed brick and reclaimed wood are genuinely beautiful. Chuck is proud and rightly so. The working-Midwest energy from below is real.

Chuck's renovation is thorough and the space is legitimately impressive. The 'keep windows cracked just a touch' instruction was perfect guidance.

The agricultural byproduct processing below gives the loft a rich, complex aromatic quality. Chuck's interpretation of this as Midwest terroir is correct.

Beautiful loft. The smell on processing days is substantial and a second cracked window helped. Chuck was immediately helpful with ventilation tips when I asked.

Processing runs Monday through Thursday — if you book Thursday to Sunday you get the lighter end of the schedule! Extra ventilation notes now in the welcome book.

We've stayed in many unique properties and this ranks highly for the combination of genuine style and genuine smell. Chuck is great. Would return.

The loft is extremely handsome. The processing smell clears on weekends and the neighborhood has a really interesting energy. Chuck makes you feel very welcome.

The processing smell did not clear on the weekend of my visit. I kept the windows cracked as instructed. The loft is beautiful and Chuck was responsive with additional ventilation tips that I appreciated.

High-heat weeks in August do extend processing hours — that's unusual but it happens! I've flagged summer visits for an extra ventilation setup from now on. The loft deserves a second chance on a cooler week.
