Yvette calls this her fire-season getaway with zero irony whatsoever because the ridge views are absolutely spectacular, especially in late summer when the hills really come alive with color. She keeps a hose on the property, which she mentions in the welcome note as a courtesy, and the smoke haze this time of year gives sunsets a quality that photographers travel from all over to capture. The cabin has pine-paneled walls and a stone fireplace and it is genuinely cozy in a way that city people really respond to. She's had guests cry, in a good way.

The ridge views are exactly as advertised and spectacular. Yvette's photography tips for the smoke-haze sunsets were genuinely helpful.

Late-summer smoke haze gives the sky a color temperature that's impossible to describe but easy to photograph. Yvette is one of the best hosts on the platform.

The cabin is tucked into the ridge in such a clever way. The hills coming alive with color is, uh, literal in August. Very alive.

Off-season the corridor is peaceful and beautiful without the smoke. Yvette runs a tight ship — everything was immaculate and well-stocked.

Stunning property. We had to evacuate on day three but Yvette refunded instantly and was apologetic and wonderful throughout. The two days we had were perfect.

Fire season is mentioned in the listing and I refund all fire-related interruptions, no questions! You were great about it. Come back in November — totally different vibe.

The hose on the property is a reassuring touch. Spring visit was absolutely perfect — no smoke, wildflowers everywhere. Yvette is an institution.

When the listing says the hills 'come alive with color' in late summer, it means fire. The fire was close enough to require an overnight evacuation to a neighboring county. Host was responsive and I respect that.

Response from host

Fire-season context is in the listing description and August comes with that caveat very clearly! Refund issued same day. I love the honesty and hope to host you in spring when it's genuinely magical.

Winter visits to fire-corridor cabins are deeply underrated. Clear air, pine smell, total quiet, no one around for miles. Yvette is exceptional.
